While on Pinterest the other day, I came across this statistic and found it interesting. It’s the benefits of reading at home and why you should do it. Here it is:
Growing up, my mom always took us to the library and back then, we had these things called…encyclopedias. Mention “encyclopedias” to kids nowadays and they’ll tilt their heads like dogs when they hear a foreign word. They’re obsolete. But I recall looking through them and learning about animals, historic locations, weird things about science, and many things we can google today. Aside from that, we would spend lots of time reading and I’m truly grateful she took us. My dad was usually working but we’d read to him the books we checked out like Dr. Seuss, The Hungry Caterpillar, Clifford, Curious George, etc. I grew up to really enjoy reading! If you have kids, I highly suggest you read to them and take them to the library. They always have fun activities to do for kids and it looks like a ton of fun! Let me know what you think!
