Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – Movie Review

Before the film…

When I was first informed of this movie, I was beyond ecstatic. Why? Because the question of, “who would win?” would FINALLY be addressed. I knew Henry Cavill would resume the character of Superman but I’m not going to lie, when I first heard Ben Affleck, aka Daredevil, was to portray Bruce Wayne, I wasn’t convinced. Really? I couldn’t see him as the Bat from Gotham City.

Few months passed, and the trailer was released. YAAAS!! IT LOOKED DOPE! I was counting down the days to this premiere! Even Wonderwoman looked beast! It’s about time we had some girl power! I was thrilled to know the Justice League would get it’s time to shine on the big screen. Marvel has been kicking ass (except for Fantastic Four, but we don’t count that one) so I assumed DC would claim the throne. I assumed…

What I liked about the film…

  1. Ben Affleck did one hell of a job as Batman. Kudos to him! Holy crap was he ripped! I enjoyed seeing an older version of Batman where Alfred, at this point in their lives, knows there’s no way of stopping Bruce Wayne once he’s set his mind to a task, even if that means he might get killed in the process.

  2. Gal Gadot OWNED her role! Honestly, she took the show. WOOO GIRL POWER!

  3. It was cool seeing Metropolis and Gotham City near each other.

  4. The sneak peek into The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg. HELL YEA!

  5. Um…..that’s it?

What I disliked about the film…

  1. Basically everything else…

  2. The editing on this film was TERRIBLE!!! TEEEEEEEEEERRRRRIIIIIIBBBBBBLLLLLLEEEEE! I was so lost with the stories.

  3. The subplots – A lot of those subplots didn’t need to be there. Period. GET ON WITH IT!

  4. Lex Luthor –  I had so many issues with Jesse Eisenberg as Lex. 1. I couldn’t understand a damn thing he was saying, 2. to me, he just wasn’t convincing.

  5. The fight – The “epic duel” wasn’t even that long. BOOO YOU SUCK!

  6. Martha – I get it. We. All. Get. It.

  7.  Lois – We all get it, Clark Kent loves her, but she had no place in this movie. None.

  8. Doomsday – yea he looked huge and all, but he wasn’t convincing either.

  9. It just didn’t feel like this movie was really thought out. Bad Snyder. You’re fired.

My thoughts after this film..

  1. What the f*** did I just watch?

  2. Can I get a refund?

  3. What the f*** just happened?

  4. Wonder Woman was so badass!

  5. Was that The Flash in that one scene? What did he even say?

  6. Please tell me that was a very long trailer to the ACTUAL film that will be coming out later in the year?

  7. I’m so lost.

As a viewer, I would probably NEVER watch that film again unless it was the only thing available on TV. My rating, a 2/5. 1 for Ben Affleck surprising us all as Batman, and 2 because I now want to hangout with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and go get our nails done.
